"I don't know," Kieren admits, blinking at Sirius and trying to figure out what's going on and why it is that it's happening to them, here. He's pleased, of course he's pleased, but he hasn't got a clue why they're here. If Sirius is here, does that mean they're staying? Or is it some kind of spell?

"Kier, would you come down and fake eating..." Jem's rambling as she opens the door, having walked straight into a situation that she hadn't expected. She gapes at Kieren (who's shirtless, in bed, warm and normal, and with another boy), and then does a double-take. "Mum!" she calls downstairs in alarm. "Kier's got a boy in his room!"

"What boy? Simon?"

"No," Jem shouts. "Kieren, you're..."

"Hi Jem," Kieren replies awkwardly, because she's actually looking at him and there's no revulsion or fear or any of the other things that he'd come to expect when Jem had looked at him. Of course, there's the matter of Sirius to explain, not to mention the mere mention of Simon has sent Kieren into a worried tail-dive because he's going to have to face Simon, isn't he. "I can explain."

"You'd better," she says. "Breakfast." Then she closes the door behind her and leaves, Kieren exhaling out all the stress the minute she does.
