Kieren wants to bury his head into the covers and ignore all of this, but he doesn't think that's a very mature thing to do. He still curls into Sirius' torso like he can avoid this whole thing right now, ignoring all of the logic of this conversation to instead think about how humiliated he is to have Jem walk in like that, but also how annoyed he is that he's going to have to explain all this, though he's not sure he can.

"That'll be difficult to explain how I've been dating you as long as I have, then," he mumbles, dragging himself away from Sirius to let out a slow exhalation. "If I haven't been gone at all and I haven't been missing, then they still think I'm with someone else." That someone else probably still thinks he's with him, too, which is an awkward thing. "Also, I'm not sure how to explain the part where I'm alive and you're a wizard."
