He's grateful that Sirius isn't going to be out there expecting Kieren to play along, but he does feel stupid, still, for having failed so thoroughly at something magical. "You've got more than that going for you," he chides, even as he hisses at the touch to his skin. Even the lightest of touches makes him react a little, even though he knows he's being a big baby about pain.
